Allen's Arena Belongs to Worlds Until Nov. 8, and The Village Next Door Runs on Its Clock

At 190 E. Stacy Road, the restaurants of The Village at Allen sit a short walk from the stone front and curved glass entrance of the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. Kelly's at the Village is in Suite 1204, Pluckers Wing Bar is in Suite 1800, Thai Sushi Crush is in Suite 1410, and Gao's BBQ and Crab is in Suite 1300. Starting tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 23, each of them is on a list the city's tourism bureau wrote for League of Legends fans who flew in from overseas.

The City of Allen says the event center will host the Swiss Stage, Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship from Oct. 23 through Nov. 8. The city also says Allen is the first host in the tournament's history to hold all three rounds at a single venue. The Allen Record reported that the tournament is projected to be the largest event the 17-year-old building has ever hosted. For those 17 days, the match schedule is the most useful calendar anyone near Stacy Road can keep.

What the Tournament Already Took Off the Local Calendar

The first effect showed up before any fan arrived. Allen Community Ice Rink paused all regular programs, rentals and skate times on Oct. 13, and the pause runs through Nov. 14, 2026. The city's closure notice explains that the size of the event requires temporary use of the rink space. The notice suggests that figure skaters and hockey players cross-train at other Allen recreation facilities while the rink is closed. It lists an event center contact for questions.

The Allen Americans open their home schedule outside Allen this year. According to the team's schedule announcement, the home opener against the Idaho Steelheads is Thursday, Oct. 29, and the second game is Friday, Oct. 30. Both games are at Comerica Center in Frisco, the first time the team has played there. Community Impact lists the Oct. 29 game as the October School Game, a daytime game where the first 5,000 fans get red glow sticks. Oct. 30 is Military Night. On those same two days, the event center has Worlds Swiss Stage sessions at 3 p.m.

The Clock to Plan Around

Here is every scheduled session at 200 E. Stacy Road, based on the venue's own event pages.

Date Day Round Listed start
Oct. 23 Friday Swiss Stage 12 p.m.
Oct. 24 Saturday Swiss Stage 12 p.m.
Oct. 25 Sunday Swiss Stage 12 p.m.
Oct. 26 Monday Swiss Stage 12 p.m.
Oct. 27 Tuesday No session
Oct. 28 Wednesday Swiss Stage 3 p.m.
Oct. 29 Thursday Swiss Stage 3 p.m.
Oct. 30 Friday Swiss Stage 3 p.m.
Oct. 31 Saturday Swiss Stage 12 p.m.
Nov. 1 to 2 Sunday to Monday No sessions
Nov. 3 to 6 Tuesday to Friday Quarterfinals 4 p.m.
Nov. 7 to 8 Saturday to Sunday Semifinals 4 p.m.

The schedule shows a few patterns. The first weekend and Halloween have midday starts. The weekday sessions in the second week of the Swiss Stage start later, at 3 p.m. Every knockout session starts at 4 p.m., which puts weekday arrivals for the quarterfinals in the late-afternoon window. Tuesday, Oct. 27, and the Nov. 1 to 2 stretch have no sessions. Other sources have published slightly different start times for some Swiss days, so check the venue's event page before planning around a specific hour.

The city's announcement focuses on visitor spending and sales tax revenue. It does not include a traffic or parking plan for Stacy Road or US 75. The Allen Record described the expected crowd as tens of thousands of international fans along the US 75 corridor. The city did cite a $53 million economic impact figure, but that number is the combined total from earlier World Championship events in other North American host cities. It is not a projection for Allen.

Where the Official Guide Sends Visitors

The Visit Allen gamer guide is written for fans spending time between matches or staying the whole week. It describes The Village at Allen as steps from the arena and places Game Nerdz Allen less than a five-minute walk away. Most of its picks are businesses Allen already knows well:

  • Next door at The Village: Kelly's at the Village, Pluckers Wing Bar, Thai Sushi Crush, Gao's BBQ and Crab, and Exit 4 Escape Rooms at 190 East Stacy Road, Suite 1302
  • Short drives: Tiger Asian Bowl at 508 W. McDermott Drive, Feng Cha at 945 W. Stacy Road, Sweet Bear Café at 1228 E. Exchange Parkway, and Topgolf at 1500 Andrews Parkway
  • Entertainment: Chicken N Pickle and PINSTACK, plus the city's hike-and-bike trail network
  • Shopping: Allen Premium Outlets and Watters Creek Village

The guide's hotel list also centers on the arena. It includes the Courtyard Dallas Allen at the Event Center at 210 E. Stacy Road inside The Village and the Hampton Inn & Suites on the Allen Premium Outlets grounds. It also lists the Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Watters Creek Convention Center.

The convention bureau's Show Your Badge program adds another reason for visitors to stay close. Participants show an event badge at participating businesses for a discount. Village at Allen offers include five free wings with a $10 purchase at Pluckers and 15% off, alcohol excluded, at Thai Sushi Crush. Numero 28 offers a complimentary Caponata with dinner for two or more. At Watters Creek, the list includes a complimentary shareable at the Melting Pot with a $25 food-and-beverage minimum and 15% off at Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q. The program page describes conference badges in general and does not say whether a Worlds ticket counts.

The Hotels Book Other Crowds, Too

Worlds isn't the only thing filling Stacy Road's hotels this fall. The guide's two hotels nearest the arena also host their own events during the tournament.

On Sunday, Nov. 1, a day with no Worlds session, the North Dallas Toy Show runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Allen, 210 E. Stacy Road. That is the same Courtyard the gamer guide lists next to the arena. From Nov. 5 to 8, the Dallas Card Show is at the Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center, overlapping the last two quarterfinal days and both semifinals. Visit Allen's listing for the card show doesn't give clear daily hours, so check with the organizer before you go.

So that first weekend of November is busy even on a day the arena is dark. A free Sunday at the event center still brings a toy show to The Village, and the semifinal weekend shares the corridor with a four-day card show.

The Rest of Allen, Away From Stacy Road

These Allen events land on or near match days:

  1. Friday, Oct. 23, 7 to 9 p.m.: Larry Ladale plays free live music at The Grove at The Village at Allen, with first-come seating, on the evening of Worlds' first day.
  2. Saturday, Oct. 24, 5 p.m.: The Haunted Campout at Bethany Lakes Park, 1201 E. Bethany Drive, costs $12 for members and $17 for nonmembers.
  3. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2 to 5 p.m.: Paint Your Pet at Blue House Too Gallery, 970 Watters Creek Blvd., is $45 and requires registration.
  4. Friday, Oct. 30, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Trick or Treat Story Time is at the Allen Public Library, 300 N. Allen Drive. Courtney Istre plays The Grove that evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
  5. Saturday, Oct. 31: The Secret Life of Spiders runs 1 to 3 p.m. at The Edge, 201 St. Mary Drive, for $5 per person. The library's Family Spooky Movie runs 2 to 3:30 p.m. and requires a ticket.
  6. Saturday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: The Cottage Farmers Market at Allen Heritage Village, 451 Saint Mary Drive, is free to browse and ends three hours before the first semifinal starts.

Most of these are miles from the arena, in parks, the library and the Heritage Village area off St. Mary Drive. The Grove is the exception, since it sits inside The Village. Both of its free concerts fall on nights when the arena has already hosted afternoon matches.

When the Building Comes Back to Allen

The tournament leaves Allen after the semifinals. Riot's schedule puts the Nov. 14 Grand Final at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with the Play-In Stage held earlier at Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The rink closure runs through Nov. 14, the same day as the final in New York.

Hockey returns to Stacy Road six days later. The Americans host the Kansas City Mavericks on Friday, Nov. 20, for Allen Opening Night, a Red Out where the first 3,500 fans get a red rally towel. The same teams play again on Nov. 21. For anyone who measures the season by home games in Allen, that is the date to mark.
